About
No one has ever died at the idyllic, antebellum-themed Hoppyville Park, and Breanne Rodgers is sick of explaining that to people. Ever since the urban legend began to spread that the viral horror game, Ribbit's Rodeo, is based on her family's theme park, her summer has turned into a living hell. Tourists keep harassing Hoppy the Hare (AKA: her). Parents call them satanists on Yelp. Worst of all, it's turned her former friend, Kit, into her coworker.
Kit Watson is the biggest Ribbit's Rodeo fan to ever exist, according to themselves. Every theory, every hidden code, every secret ending, they know it all like the back of their hand. So when similarities between the game and Hoppyville become apparent, they declare themselves the only one that can find out why. After years of avoiding the park and its baggage, they're back; if their ex-best friend, Breanne, has a problem with that, she can get over herself.
When Ribbit's Rodeo's movie adaptation is announced to be filmed at Hoppyville itself, the rumours only grow stronger. Breanne wants nothing to do with it. Kit is determined to meet the game's mysterious creator. And on the first day of filming, the lead dies in a freak accident- one that harkens back to the game's iconic murders. The bodies start to pile up, and whoever is behind them knows something about the park that both teens don't.
The deaths bring everything about Hoppyville to question, right down to the stories it was built on and who had the power to tell them. With Breanne's knowledge of her family's troubled past and Kit's expertise in the game's lore, the two have to band together and solve the murders- all while avoiding the cheap jumpscares.
